The Kangaroo Bus Lines team has yet again helped raise much needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctors Service during our Birdsville Adventure 2017.
At Kangaroo Bus Lines, we were lucky enough to have once again made the trip out to Birdville raised much need funds in support of the Royal Flying Doctors Service at the iconic Birdsville Races at the beginning of September 2017. The well-known Birdsville Races takes place over two days in the strikingly red, Simpson Desert, attracting more than 7,000 people annually.
In an ongoing partnership with the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS), we provided a continuous shuttle service between the outback township and the racetrack each day for a gold coin donation. This year the event raised a generous $9620.00 for the worthy cause. We have now successfully provided fundraising support for the RFDS over the last six years, donating an impressive total of nearly $50,000.00, and we couldn’t be more proud!
The RFDS is a not-for-profit organisation that provides 24-hour emergency aeromedical services and primary health care to over 290,000 rural and remote Australians every year; however, they rely heavily on fundraising initiatives and donations to continue their vital work.

We are thrilled to be able to promote the event and highlight the distinctive Australian experience that is the Birdsville Races. Kangaroo Bus Lines first started our Birdsville Tour in 2005, only taking 25 people in one bus. We now take over 120 people and four buses annually; it’s a fantastic event for everyone involved.
As well as providing luxury coach travel, accommodation, meals and entry to the races each day, our Birdsville Races group also had the opportunity to explore the Simpson Desert with a visit to the outskirts of Big Red.
