Kangaroo Bus Lines are delighted and honoured to announce we have been named the 2017 winners of the ‘Tours’ category at this year’s Sunshine Coast Business Awards (SCBA). This prestigious award recognises our commitment to delivering outstanding tourism services that enhance visitor experience across the Sunshine Coast region.
Amongst all the glitz and glamour, over 600 Sunshine Coast business professionals turned out to celebrate and recognise the success of local business on the coast. The awards ceremony “Celebrating Our Stars” was held at Novotel Twin Waters Resort on Saturday 18th November. Being first time entrants, we were surprised and humbled by our win and are proud that we were able to shine amongst the stars.
Since our arrival on the Sunshine Coast in January 2016 we have not only set a high standard in service quality but have also lead the passenger transport industry by introducing accessible chartered transport options for mobility impaired passengers. Outside of public transport services Kangaroo Bus Lines is the only bus charter operator on the Sunshine Coast that is Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant and offers wheelchair accessible mini buses and coaches to support the growing needs of a diverse population. Our tour and charter services offer schools, organisations and community groups inclusive transport options to ensure all passengers are able to fully utilise our services.
This experience has given us the opportunity to benchmark ourselves against some truly exceptional local businesses and has enabled us to raise our profile amongst the greater Sunshine Coast community. Special thanks must be extended to the Sunshine Coast Business Awards committee, the event sponsors including Noosa Council, our SCBA mentee and most importantly the greater Kangaroo Bus Lines family.
The SCBA committee was encouraging and supportive throughout the entire submission process and no question was ever too hard. As part of the exercise we were extended the opportunity to participate in a business ‘hero’ mentoring program that allowed us to understand how best to articulate our story. The process, though extensive, was well worth the time and effort and has allowed us to demonstrate our long-term commitment to emphasise the regions capability and capacity to grow tourism.
