For our customers travelling on a Kangaroo Bus Lines service, you can now use your Visa, Mastercard, or American Express debit or credit card, including cards in the digital wallet of your smart device, to pay for your travel.
Smart Ticketing is also available on South East Queensland’s (SEQ) train and tram network, Brisbane River ferries, and some SEQ buses. The remaining SEQ bus network and Southern Moreton Bay Island ferries will be progressively activated this year. Make sure to tap on and tap off before transferring to a new mode of transport.
To successfully use Smart Ticketing, it is important that you prepare early by removing your card from your wallet to avoid card clash, and use the same card or device to tap on at the start of your trip and tap off at the end of your trip to avoid incurring a default fare.
If you need to transfer to another bus operator that is not yet participating in the Smart Ticketing trial, you will need to continue to use your go card when transferring.
Any customers who wish to continue using their go card at this time, may continue to do so. Children aged between 5 and 14 years will still be able to travel free on the weekend using their orange child go card.
