About Us
After operating buses in Victoria, the Webster family moved to Queensland and in 1978, the family purchased Kangaroo Line, a small bus service operating 6 six buses out of Caboolture. This country bus service provided services from Caboolture to Redcliffe along with the daily school bus services carrying around the 150 students across the region.
It soon became apparent that an alternative location was required for the depot as the dirt road accessing the current depot often flooded. In 1979 the company relocated its operation the current address on Morayfield Road.
In 1980, Narangba Bus Service, a small three bus family operation was purchased by Kangaroo Line. With this purchase the trading name was changed to Kangaroo Bus Lines and services commenced in the small town of Narangba and Burpengary. Steady growth occurred as the area developed and more second hand buses were purchased throughout these early years. As a result a strong association with the Caterpillar Engine Company began.
In 1983 saw the purchase of the first brand new bus, a Denning Denflex. This vehicle was purchased to improve the passenger services from Caboolture to Redcliffe. As the region continued to grow steadily over the next few years, more Denning Denflex’s where added to the fleet. With the addition of these new vehicles the Tour and Charter division was established and commenced providing buses for charter. In 1986, the growth and demand in our school bus services, as well as our charter division, saw the need for high seating capacity buses to be purchased. As a result, four articulated “banana buses” where purchased from Volvo Bus Australia.
These “banana buses” were the articulated buses used in the Japan Expo and became an instant hit with school bus travel and school based charters. This was predominately due to the fact they could transport large volumes of passengers.
From 1987 to 1991 the area continued to develop in all areas of the business. New buses and coaches where purchased at a rate of one every year to accommodate the growth in charter division and the increase in passenger services on our network.
Over the next few years reforms took place within our contracted area under a number of trials by various Government Departments. Many of these reforms saw improvements in Public Transport with the introduction of more services on weekdays and the commencement of new weekend services. During these times Kangaroo Bus Lines purchased five mini buses to operate the increased Urban Passenger Services.
As our client base grew the company starting getting requests for day tours from local passengers who had no way of exploring South East QLD. Our day tour division was born in 1998. With the commencement of one day tour a month they steadily become a regular addition to general operations.
In 1999 saw a major change to the Kangaroo Bus Lines timetable network with the introduction of three new wheelchair accessible buses. This was a first for the local community and set the standard for all future for Public Transport in the Caboolture and surrounding districts.
Tour and Charter Services came of age in 2000 with the purchase of our first brand new purpose built luxury touring coach. This signalled Kangaroo Bus Lines as a provider of quality bus and coach services throughout South East Queensland and Australia.

In 2004 Kangaroo Bus Lines become a part of the Queensland Governments new Public Transport system, Translink. The introduction of Translink to our operating region has benefited the Moreton Bay Regional Shire with affordable and reliable public transport for the greater community.
2004 to current has seen the rapid growth in all aspects of our business and the continuing support of the local community ensures that Kangaroo Bus Lines is able to provide the high standard of service our passengers are accustomed to.
