QLD Telecommunications Museum & Newstead House

Today we’re off to visit the QLD Telecommunications Museum. Established in 1952 by a group of Post Office Volunteers, the museum is dedicated to the preservation of artefacts, photographs and equipment that have been used throughout the years.

Let’s start our day with a delicious morning tea overlooking the picturesque eastern reaches of the Brisbane River. This area of Brisbane has seen recent development with the opening of Eat Street Northshore just next door and Portside Wharf which now attracts
over 329 cruise ships each year. Today we’re off to visit the Qld Telecommunications Museum. We’ll finish our day with a tour of Newstead House, overlooking Newstead Park and the Brisbane River and built in 1846, did you know it’s Brisbane’s oldest surviving home?
