Kangaroo Bus Lines offers a range of services for passengers with a disability. By removing barriers we aim to provide greater access to transport services for all people across our network and charter services.
Our skilled driving team takes pride in delivering a high level of care and respect to all passengers. Our employees all undertake regular training in relation to disability awareness and also assist us to identify opportunities for improvement for accessible services.
We welcome guide dogs and registered assistance dogs on board all Kangaroo Bus Lines services.
National Relay Service
We encourage the use of the National Phone Relay Service, a phone solution for people who are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment.
Accessible Public Transport - Translink
Kangaroo Bus Lines offers mobility impaired and wheelchair access is available on all Translink (public transport) services. Our public transport route services are 100% DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) Compliant.
Kangaroo Bus Lines’ public transport buses feature:
- Extending wheelchair ramps to enable easy wheelchair, mobility aid and pram access
- “Kneeling” suspension to make boarding and alighting easy for passengers with mobility limitations
- Low floor design that can accommodate up to two wheelchairs, mobility aids or prams at any given time
- Priority seating area near the front of the bus for mobility and visually impaired passengers as well as elderly and expectant mothers
- Strategically located assistance rails, stop buttons and ticketing equipment to assist passengers with a disability
- Colour contrasting to assist vison impaired passengers

Accessible Charter Services
Kangaroo Bus Lines charter fleet provides a diverse range of accessible transport solutions to cater for the specialised mobility needs of a diverse population. Our accessible transport options are suitable for a range of charter services including:

- Airport and hotel transfers
- Special event shuttle services
- Day touring

We’re proud of the fact that our Sunshine Coast bus fleet is the only accessible charter fleet to service the entire Sunshine Coast region!
All of our modern coaches feature climate control air-conditioning, ergonomic reclining seats, panoramic curtained windows and are all seatbelt equipped for added passenger safety. Our accessible charter fleet includes 48–53 seat coaches featuring a cassette lift mechanism allowing wheelchair bound passengers to travel without the need to leave their chair to board the coach. Our coaches also have the ability to “kneel”, lowering the bus entrance facilitating curbside access for passengers with limited mobility and feature safety rails and handles in the entrance of the vehicle to assist with embarkation. They are also fitted with wheelchair anchorage points for added passenger safety. Luggage bins allow for additional storage of mobility aids. Our coaches have the ability to accommodate up to two wheelchairs at any given time.
Recently added to our ever growing fleet is our wheelchair accessible mini bus with a fixed seating capacity of 18 passengers and allows for the carriage of one wheelchair via cassette lift mechanism. This mini bus features climate control air-conditioning, panoramic curtained windows and is seatbelt equipped and fitted with wheelchair anchorage points for added passenger safety. This vehicle also features safety rails and handles in the entrance of the vehicle to assist with embarkation and a small trailer can be provided for additional storage of mobility frames.
